CA Food Handler Card

All California Food Handlers must obtain a California Food Handler Card within 30 days from the date of hire. The law requires all persons who are involved in the preparation, storage, or services of food in a food facility to obtain the training.

This ServSafe 2-hour, trainer-led class will cover Basic Food Safety, Personal Hygiene, Cross-Contamination & Allergens, Time & Temperature, and Cleaning & Sanitation. The student will need to pass a food handler test with a minimum score of 70% to receive their card. The card is renewable every 3 years.

Topics covered include: -Hygiene -Sanitation -Food storage -Health regulations -Basic work skills

Food Protection Manager's Certification

California state law requires food service establishments to train their staff in accordance with an approved Certified Food Handler Program. This course is the ServSafe Manager’s level program offered by the National Restaurant Association. The certificate must be renewed every 5 years.

The class is a 6-hour intensive course followed by the 2-hour exam. The Nutrition and Foods lab is also used during the class, for demonstration of commercial kitchen layout.

La ley del estado de California requiere que los establecimientos de servicio de alimentos entrenen a su personal de acuerdo con un Programa de Manejo de Alimentos Certificado aprobado. Este curso es el programa de nivel ServSafe Manager ofrecido por la Asociación Nacional de Restaurantes. La clase es de 6 horas seguido de un examen de 2 horas.
