CA Food Handler Card

All California Food Handlers must obtain a California Food Handler Card within 30 days from the date of hire. The law requires all persons who are involved in the preparation, storage, or services of food in a food facility to obtain the training.

This ServSafe 2-hour, trainer-led class will cover Basic Food Safety, Personal Hygiene, Cross-Contamination & Allergens, Time & Temperature, and Cleaning & Sanitation. The student will need to pass a food handler test with a minimum score of 70% to receive their card. The card is renewable every 3 years.

Topics covered include: -Hygiene -Sanitation -Food storage -Health regulations -Basic work skills

CA Guard Card Training

Join us for 8-hour training course necessary to secure a California Guard Card• 4 hours: Power to Arrest• 4 hours: Weapons of Mass Destruction 

Prior to working as a California Security Guard, graduates of the Guard Card course will be required by the State of California to complete applications and pay for both fingerprinting and background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ) (approximately $74), as well as licensing through the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) ($55).

Food Protection Manager's Certification

California state law requires food service establishments to train their staff in accordance with an approved Certified Food Handler Program. This course is the ServSafe Manager’s level program offered by the National Restaurant Association. The certificate must be renewed every 5 years.

The class is a 6-hour intensive course followed by the 2-hour exam. The Nutrition and Foods lab is also used during the class, for demonstration of commercial kitchen layout.

Notary Public Workshop

This is a 6-hour class providing information needed to become a notary public. The State Notary Public examination is scheduled after class, 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

-Students must have a valid photo ID and bring a 2” x 2” passport photo to class.

-Students must also have a check or money order payable to the Secretary of State for $40.00 for Notary Public test.

-A sack lunch is recommended.
